A Commintment to Service
Rick Goldring is involved, inspired and passionate about helping people. He is a life-long resident of Burlington and graduated from Nelson High School. He earned his BA in Economics from McMaster University.
Rick served his community as mayor of Burlington, Ontario from 2010 to 2018 and as a city councilor from 2006 to 2010.
A Strong History
In the community, he has served as a board member at the Ron Edwards Family YMCA, the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore. Rick is a Rotary “Paul Harris Fellow” and recipient of both a Canada 125 medal and a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal for service provided to Rotary and the community.
Rick has also served on the Boards of the Burlington Economic Development Corporation, Burlington Hydro, Burlington Performing Arts Centre, Tourism Burlington, Halton Community Housing Corporation, Association of Municipalities of Ontario and continues to serve on the Board of the Municipal Employers Pension Centre of Ontario.
Rick and his wife Cheryl have a combined seven daughters and five grandchildren.
